The 250th: Not a Johnny Come Lately

I do not want to be a Johnny Come Lately with the 250th anniversary of the Birth of America, the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and the Greatest Show On Earth (in the States).
I’d initially thought:
“I want to have a nice, quiet 4th of July. Now that I’m a Westerner, my eyes really won’t be on D.C. I left there long ago. I’m grateful and glad that city is finally getting cleaned up, fumigated, re-introduced to Law and Order.”
The 4th of July in the West, however, is celebrated quite differently than it is in the Colonies.
My colony-state of origin is New Jersey. History class in public schools, way back then, covered the Revolution very well, extremely well. I did not, however, learn about the legends of the West until I moved West in 1979.

The State of California had not yet been reduced to a woke-welfare-one-party state. The State Employees believed, and still believe, they are the heirs to Versailles, a selfish lot focused on getting their loot ahead of anyone else.
The potentate’s desecration of the civil rights of an American citizen has been an ongoing project in CA, since the 1970s; but the truly foul infringements on the U.S. Constitution got into high gear when Geezer Moonbeam, rested and ready to take orders from the Powers-that-Be, returned to his Guvner-Trougher-Throne in 2010.
From that point on, the rights of the citizen have been under assault like never before. There’s a lot to celebrate here in the once-Golden State, but I shall be the first to admit that the plague of phonies in elected office can put a damper on the dedicated glee.
The rebel in me refuses to let the loonies spoil my fun and my faith in the future of California, and of the U.S.A.
Last year, Dear Hubby bought some bunting, Made in the USA, with which to decorate our domicile. My design ethos is typically minimalist: simple with a statement that packs a punch. And the festive half-circle flags pay tribute to my nation quietly and boldly.

The More-is-More style, though, as I’ve noticed in the D.C. preps for the 250-Bash, also perfectly suits this occasion. This unprecedented and incomparable extravaganza is worth waiting, and praying, for:
America is rising to her destiny.
I’m less contemplative about that inevitability today than I was a year ago. I’m feeling the vibes of victory, cause one thing is for sure, the losers are working overtime (and doing any work is not their norm). They’re desperate, to ruin as much as they can of the joy of America.
The joy of America is the infinite force of freedom. The rinky-dink “rulers’ are falling, one by one. Corruption is a heavy (and expensive) load to carry, to hide, to disguise. Gravity happens, especially when faith in the Almighty and in America are joined in the battle for liberty.
That Bill of Rights has come due. We the People aren’t taking any less than full restitution of our Republic. That fight may prove to be lengthy, but no matter how long the battle, We the People have found our mettle.
Miracles do happen. It’s best to be prepared for them, when least you expect them!
