Memorial Day 2025

All I Ask of You

by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Charles Hart, and Richard Stilgoe

ree

Let’s not talk of sadness

Forget our wild-eyed fears

I’m here,

Nothing can harm you

My words will warm and calm you.

Let me be your freedom

Let daylight dry your tears

I’m here,

With you, beside you

To guard you and to guide you.

Please say you love me,

every waking moment

Turn my head

with talk of summertime.

Say you need me with you,

now and always,

ree

Promise me that all you say

is true:

That’s all I ask of you.

Let me be your shelter

Let me be your light

You’re safe,

No one will harm you,

Your fears are far behind you.

All we need is freedom,

ree

A world with no more night

And me, always beside you,

to hold you and to guide you.

I’ll share with you

One love,

One lifetime.

I’ll lead you

from your solitude.

I need you with me,

here,

beside me.

ree

Anywhere you go,

There I’ll go too.

I’ll share with you,

one love,

one lifetime

Each day,

each night,

each waking moment.

Let me love you

That’s all I ask of you.
