Anticipation

Sometimes a person has been so mired in oppression, an overall lack of freedom, for so long, that when she is sprung from it, the sensation, oddly enough, is one of stunned confusion.

You’ve had to live in an un-free state for so long that it takes a while to adjust to liberty — and to anticipate the blessings that come with being free to speak your own mind, to pursue your life as God intended you to pursue it, and not as the tinpot dictator insists you must for his/her glorification, greed and narcissistic feed.

I speak of life in California, not in Communist China.

For decades now, this Golden State has gone without any true leaders, post-Governor Pete Wilson.  For most, okay, for all of those years, I’ve gone about my life, devising strategies, tactics, feints, gambits, maneuvers, ruses and subterfuges to legally get-around the God-awful roadblocks to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

It’s how THE DAWN came to be!

Within the past 20 years, as California degenerated into a 1-Party State, it transformed itself into Arkansas of the Slick Willie era.  Of course, this consequence was not intended.  Very little that the D-rats plan ever produces those intended consequences that are, in themselves, equally odious.  Those socialists specialize in political myopia.  They’re too blind to see that truth, along with countless others!

In defense of the Golden State, I must say that a region this vast, this varied in geography and topography, is impossible to govern.  On a county-level, it can be done, somewhat efficiently.  Statewide, however, the reach far exceeds the greedy-grasp of Guvmint.

Charles de Gaulle accurately and presciently stated (because, bien sûr, he was Charles de Gaulle):

“How can anyone govern a nation that has two hundred and forty-six different kinds of cheese?”

Here, in California, how can anyone govern a state that has thousands of wine caves?

Seriously, though, the history of this state is one of the corrupt Big Cities offering up politicians to run for Governor, usually for the worst of reasons.  The Greasy Gruesome Vampirish Lunatic, fresh from his wine cave, with the fresh facelift and permanently tattooed eye-makeup, is a horribly decrepit thing to see.

He is, however, a symptom, a very gross symptom, of a very huge problem.  And that problem presently infests the Nation’s Capital.  California did not lead the way on this one.  It followed the dollar, the dark-money dollar, and slavishly, I might add.

California rarely leads the way on anything.  It’s a land of opportunity that the opportunists cornered early, around 1849, aka The California Gold Rush.  The prospectors who went belly-up, or never found the bonanza, but came upon mucho borrasca, or had their mining claim stolen from them by a claim jumper:

Those unlucky souls either left the region, or settled into farming, or selling merchandise made Back East in dry-goods stores.  The only authentically true tale of California leading the way just might be the Donner Party.

One native Californian with whom I worked, an economist of all things, told me he intended to play that PBS documentary on Thanksgiving!

The one glorious exception to California Not Leading the Way is Proposition 13, the Tax Revolt of 1978, led by Howard Jarvis and Paul Gann.  The punitive taxing of home-owners ended, officially, and legally, in January 1979.  Many other forms of ghoulish blood—sucking taxation have since taken root in the hardpan of Sacramento.  And the Tax-and-Spend Ghouls under the Dome have been trying since January 1979 to overturn Prop13.

California has to get its house in order, after the post-Cold War era here started turning this part of the American West into a toxic waste dump.

My advice for the fix, the long haul of a fix, that’s needed to fix the fix that got us here is another leadership gem from Monsieur de Gaulle:

“Politics is too serious a matter to be left to the politicians.”

The maturing of America has been a very long time coming.  The consensus opinion among Americans is that IT’S THE BOOMERS’ FAULT.  I’ll not disagree with that opinion.

That intensely awful and uppity group of mindless sheep following each other into oblivion has been an insult to real sheep.  The aged, angry, very long-in-the-tooth women brag nowadays about how many unborn lambs they led to slaughter, shrieking the U.S. taxpayer must fund future atrocities.  God shall not be merciful to those mortals whose claim to fame in life is committing any and all acts shamelessly, Sin vergüenza.

That human blob of stupid conformity skewed and screwed up so much, world-wide, it’s time for all of us — in those media-generated splinter-group designations (Gen X, Y, Z, Millennial, Zoomer, and whoever else is on the horizon for the latest label to be slapped on) — to move on!

Let’s move on to liberty!

I await, in anticipation, the 250th birthday of my nation!
